TGIF: Have a Great Weekend

What are you up to this weekend? We are headed to a couple summer festivals and markets happening in the city and surrounding towns. My brother's girlfriend has started a farmers market in Black Diamond / Turner Valley (two small towns outside of Calgary). I'm so proud of her! Not only is she the main organizer of the market, she also forages plants and mushrooms to create natural products to sell there too. Needless to say, she is one cool and inspiring chick.

I'm so in love with this time of year! The weather and all the things to do outside are wonderful! And I love that these events are so kid friendly too!

The past week of work for me has been full of blogging and organizing. I'm really excited to get this blog up and running again. I'm hoping to post a few times a week. But I'm okay with letting it run organically at first.

Also, I'm already starting to plan for projects in the Fall. I know, that might sound a little crazy to some people (let's just enjoy the summer first, right!?) But I have some big ideas in the works and they are going to take me a couple months to create. So I'm pretty excited to start working on them now.

How about you? What did you work on this week?

On another note, I thought I'd share some things that inspired me this week around the web. Here you go...

+ There's so many great articles about instagram lately! Here's another one...  Should You Use Instagram Bots? Everything You Need to Know about Instagram Automation

+ My husband and I are thinking of downsizing our place and moving in to a much much smaller home in the near future. We have our eye on an older area of town where the houses were built in the early 1900's. The perks of downsizing would be way less stuff, and way less to keep clean! But I'm not sure where I'd work if we had a smaller space... something like this new shelving unit from Ikea is a good option to put into our bedroom or living room (and also very pretty).

+ Confession time: I am definitely guilty of this as I LOVE to work (I really love my job!) "Plain and simple, when we self-identify as “Achievers,” it’s easy to equate our productivity and accomplishments with who we are." Read this article it's a wonderful reminder to step out of your head once in a while.

+ The Difference Between Inspiration & Imitation - excited to read this because I really do believe that when you're first starting out, you have to imitate others (to a certain extent) in order to find your own way. When I learned about the masters in art history class, this is exactly how they learned their own techniques. But then when you've figured out your own voice, it's time to move on.
